Beginning in 1858, the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company began producing steam fire engines int heir machine shop. Amoskeag Steam Fire Engines soon became world renowned for their effectiveness in fighting fires as well as their beauty, carefully crafted by Amoskeag workers.
